On Sunday, GNIDA (Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority) issued a tender to welcome bids for Master Plan 2041. According to the Authority, the Master Plan 2021 will be the reference point for shaping the city for the next 15-20 years.
The authority focuses on infrastructure development based on the population density determined in Master Plan 2021. It includes drinking water facilities, drainage, and sewage treatment for Master Plan 2041.
Also, a press conference before bidding is scheduled for 14 November, followed by bidding submission until 28 November. The technical bid for the same will commence on December 02nd.
Saumya Srivastava, additional chief executive officer of Greater Noida Authority said, “We aim to design structures for drainage and sewage networks including the apparatus for drinking water supply on the basis of population mentioned in these two master plans. As per the study, the master plans envision the population and its pressure on the existing infrastructure, and the future planning related with the utility services.”

The hired consultant will also evaluate the current water facility and work on storage and distribution channels. It will involve data verification, site evaluations, and network assessment from the service provider to the end user.

For Master Plan 2041 the consultant will also asses the Ganga Water treatment plant to design and demand supply chain. The upcoming digital management systems and round-the-clock water supply via metering are also in consideration.
With the hiring of a consultant, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority aims at advancement. Including water supply, water auditing, GIS mapping, and establishing advance operating systems.
It is based on urban population expansion and curtailing water shortage in 31,733 hectares initially.

The development work for Master Plan 2041 will be carried out in two phases. In phase I, infrastructure and immediate improvements will be taken care of. While in phase II, budgeting and plan implementation will be completed. “The sewerage master plan involves collecting data from GNIDA’s draft Master Plan 2041 and evaluating current sewerage systems. The assessment includes analysing networks, treatment methods and forecasting discharge requirements for 2041. The plan involves existing and proposed treatment plants, GIS mapping and sustainable water recycling models, alongside environmental impact studies. Regarding storm water management, the consultant will assess the drainage network comprehensively, addressing hydraulic issues and developing solutions for waterlogged areas. The scope includes planning rainwater harvesting systems, surveying outfalls and conducting quantity analysis, whilst, consulting various stakeholders regarding water bodies within the city,” an Authority official who wished not to be named said.
