Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, expressed hope to improve the quality of housing. After FM Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Union Budget 2025, the Union Housing minister expects better housing quality under the affordable housing scheme.
He said the budget for 2025 will enhance the quality of life in urban areas especially.

“This budget aims to drive transformative reforms in six key areas over the next five years, with a focus on enhancing growth potential and strengthening global competitiveness. Among these, Urban Development is a key priority, aimed at modernizing cities, improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of urban living,” he said.
He further said that the Union Budget 2025-26 is a strong foundation for Viksit Bharat. The sectors including Infrastructure, housing, and urban development will leap at turn via transformative reforms.
Manohar Lal Khattar is optimistic about the Union Budget 2025-26 to play a key role in ascending income of street vendors.
“This budget reinforces our Government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of urbanization reach every citizen,” said Khattar.

Housing minister Manohar Lal Khattar emphasized that the PM SAVANidhi Scheme is already benefitting more than 68 lakh vendors. It will also ease access to bank loans and UPI-linked credit cards with a limit of upto Rs. 30,000.
Minister further highlighted the importance of establishing an Urban Challenge Fund worth Rs. 1 lakh Crore. It will act as a catalyst for cities like Growth Hubs, Creative Redevelopment of Cities, Water, and Sanitation.
It will primarily initiate the vision of Viksit Bharat.
