Oberoi Realty confirms its deal with Marriott International to develop two hotels. According to the pact, these hotels will be in Mumbai and Thane. JW Marriott Hotel Thane Garden City and Mumbai Marriott Hotel Sky City in Borivali, Mumbai. The developer is confident to complete these projects by 2027-28. With these projects, India’s financial capital city will have better hospitality spaces.
Vikas Oberoi, Chairman and Managing Director, Oberoi Realty said, “The JW Marriott Hotel Thane Garden City will be set in Oberoi Garden City, Thane, our integrated development spread across 75 acres which will also consist of luxury residences and world class amenities.”
Mumbai Marriott Hotel Sky City will situated within an integrated township. It spreads over 75 acres in Borivali East and comprises eight luxury high-rise residential towers. The magnificent Hotel Sky City will cover more than 1.5 million square feet.
Sources said Marriott International is also excited about the new real estate project in Mumbai. Rajeev Menon, President Asia Pacific, excluding China Marriott International said, “This collaboration reinforces Mumbai as a strategically important market.”
Sharing a positive outlook, Menon said, “I see tremendous potential in secondary and tertiary markets, in light of the growing income of Indians,” Menon added. About the mixed use properties in Mumbai, Menon said the existing partnerships with Oberoi Realty in Mumbai are a “success story of such models.”
At the time of signing the deal, Marriott International marks a turnover of Rs. 9,000 crore in FY 2024. Marriott International has portfolio of approximately 8,800 properties with over 30 leading brands. The company has a presence in 139 countries and has 17 brands operational in India. The company plans to expand its business in the country by launching over 70 hotels.
JW Marriott Hotel Thane Garden City in Mumbai’s north-east locale will have 280 guestrooms. The architectural design and interiors will offer residential vibes. There will be three dining bays and one lobby lounge. A pool bar, a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, and a fitness center will also be there.
The hotel in Thane will also have a signature spa to offer a premium hospitality experience. An event sphere of 1,760 square meters is there at the project. Marriott International aims to make the Thane project a perfect destination for host medium-scale events.
JW Mumbai Marriott Hotel Sky City in Borivali will offer a fiesta for foodies. There will be an all-day dining restaurant. Alongside three restaurants, a specialty restaurant, and a patisserie. To elevate the dining experience, a bar lounge will be next to the restaurants. The great room lobby, M Club lounge, and a fitness center are planned at the hotel.
Quan spa, outdoor swimming pool, and places to host events will also be part of the hotel by Marriott in Borivali, Mumbai.
