COWRKS, the Brookfield properties company, leased multiple office spaces in Mumbai and Bengaluru. These new centers span 1.4 lakh sq ft collectively, the company said. With this footprint expansion, the company’s tally of leased spaces goes up to 15 lakh square feet.
By far, in India, the company has a presence in six major cities and a portfolio of 34 functional centers with 21,000+ desks.
“The launch of these new centers reflects the growing demand for Grade ‘A’ flexible office solutions from both startups and large enterprises, which aligns with our strategic goals,” said Parul Thakur, Senior Vice President and Business Head at COWRKS.
He further said, this demand is driven by the need for workspaces that offer operational efficiencies, workspace flexibility, employee engagement, and business continuity.
These centers are in Equinox in Mumbai and Bengaluru, they are located in Ecoworld and Centennial. The focus is on collaborative and adaptable designs, and each center has silent zones to focus on work and absorption of big-size teams. In the statement company also said, that the centers are well-complimented with expressive art and vibrant colours.
COWRKS has diverse clientele including Fortune 500 companies, startups, and unicorns, the statement said.
India is witnessing an upsurge in the trajectory of flexible office spaces mainly after COVID-19. The market asks for more large size working spaces as part of the commercial real estate sector. Large enterprises are also inclined to these despite adopting a hybrid work culture.
In the latest report by Colliers, a property consultant, the flexible office segment in the top 6 Indian cities record the highest ever quarterly demand in April-June at 2.6 million square feet. Out of this, 65% of demand was from Delhi and Bengaluru. “Flex operators have already leased about 4.4 million square feet of space in H1 2024, underscoring the occupiers’ continued preference for flex spaces,” said Vimal Nadar, who is a senior director and head of research at Collier India.
