The Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) auctions five plots worth Rs. 192 Crore in Oshiwara, Mumbai. Amongst these, four plots were reserved for education and one for the healthcare industry.
On 16th July, the housing authority declared in the auction, Medanta Hospital won a plot of Rs. 125 crore. The said plot covers an 8,850 square meter area. In the e-auction, MHADA kept the reserved price at Rs. 67.69 crore for the plot, while Medanta group emerged as the highest bidder.
In the statement MHADA said, “Medanta Hospital is one of the premier hospitals in India, renowned for providing world-class comprehensive and affordable healthcare services. Through MHADA, the services of Medanta hospital will soon be available to Mumbaikars.”
Pragat Shikshan Sanstha bought a plot for approximately 2,000 sq meters in Malad for Rs. 11 crore. MHADA has a reserved price of Rs. 10.66 crore.
Another plot by MHADA for educational establishment in 2,000 sq meters was auctioned for Rs. 12.21 crore. The reserved price for this plot was Rs. 11.81 crore by MHADA. The last two plots for auction were in Vikhroli and one was let to polytechnic institution and women’s education institute.
In the statement MHADA said, “The plot of 3,010 sq meters in Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli, reserved for a women’s polytechnic institution, was acquired by Navchetan Charitable trust for Rs. 18.05 crore. MHADA set a base price of Rs. 17.75 crore for this plot. Additionally, the plot of 3,360.15 square meters in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli, reserved for educational purposes was awarded to Radhikabai Meghe Women’s Education Institute for Rs. 26 crore, whereas the board had set a base price of Rs. 21.25 crore. ”
In 2024, these are the four biggest land deals in the city including K Raheja Crop’s purchase of Sobo Central Mall. It is a commercial property in South Mumbai’s Haji Ali locality for Rs. 476 crore bought from Kishore Biyani’s Bansi Mall Management Company (BMMCL).
