CM Shinde inaugurates NaMo Grand Central Park in Thane

Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra chief minister inaugurated NaMo Grand Central Park in Thane recently. Kalpataru group has developed the park and will be maintaining this green landscape. Estimated to be the State’s biggest central park, the inspiration is taken from many international green boulevards.

The rich green verdure design recalls a glimpse of New York’s Grand Central Park, Hyde Park in London, and a few more. The project is a development under TDR, and Maharashtra CM expressed proud to have this development.

At the inauguration, CM Eknath Shinde said, “It is a state-of-the-art park, we are really proud of this development, which has been built in lieu of TDR, and Thane Municipal Corporation has not spent a single penny on this massive development.

Named after Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this is no less than a fresh slice of breath for the city. The park spans 25 acres and will flush oxygen for the city residents while overpowering pollution. CM Shinde said, that the park commenced a new story of environment-friendly living for communities.

CM Shinde further said, “Thane 2.0 is a vision realised, a paradigm shift towards a family-friendly city, creating more green spaces, fostering community engagement where families come together to enjoy, and most importantly, change the lifestyle of people in Thane. Our vision extends beyond Thane, aspiring to see cities in Maharashtra emerge as a green zone, and NaMo Grand Central Park is a significant stride towards that goal.

On this occasion, the Maharashtra CM congratulated Kalpataru Group for coming up with this brilliant landscape and exhibited faith in them for park maintenance. The State Government, with local authorities, aims to make a green and clean atmosphere to live in. Also, the local authority is excited to expand the green blanket to ensure pollution-free living.

Abhijit Bangar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Thane said, “The Park is a step towards fulfilling the CM’s vision for a green and smart city. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our broader goal of city-wide green initiative promoting a sustainable and green Thane. By embracing both indigenous and exotic trees at the park, we are cultivating a diverse and eco-friendly environment for adults and children alike.”

Salient features of NaMo Grand Central Park in Thane

  • The park has a fitness zone, skate ring, tennis and basketball court. There is a futsal court, climbing, and adventure area.
  • The city residents can enjoy Zip Line, Fitness Station, Adventure Play Area, Maze, Splash pad, TOT LOT, Tree House, Embankment slide, and Victory Hill.
  • There are water bodies and decks for scenic viewing. There is an Iconic X-Bridge, 400-capacity Amphitheatre, 750 m Long promenade, and Viewing Deck.
  • Relax and experience solace at Convergence Ring, Flora Trellis, Observation Deck, Canopy Deck, and 4 Themed Gardens.
  • Binge on good food at Family restaurants and Cafés here. The restrooms and water fountains make the place comfortable to spend quality time.

Many dignitaries were in attendance at the inauguration ceremony, including Parag Munot, Managing Director, Kalpataru group. He also expressed happiness over the opening of the city park. He also said, “The NaMo Grand Central Park is a result of a development exemplifying a collaborative approach towards community development for a clean, smart and futuristic Thane city. The NaMo Grand Central Park stands as a landmark project, not just across Mumbai and Thane but also as a beacon of transformative collaboration towards a green and futuristic city.

NaMo Central Park in Thane is a mindfully designed green space with multiple fitness, leisure, gaming, and dining options.
